'Tottenham cannot compete with United and City in transfer market' - Manchester money frustrates Pochettino

Tottenham cannot compete with Manchester United and Manchester City in the transfer market, according to boss Mauricio Pochettino. Pep Guardiola's Premier League leaders spent in the region of £220 million in the most recent transfer window as they completed an overhaul of the playing squad. United, behind City only on goal difference, invested close to £150m on Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof as they continued their recent trend of massive pre-season spending. Spurs, by contrast, spent just over £90m and ended the window with a profit, having sold Kyle Walker to City for close to £50m among a number of departures. "The difference these days between clubs in the Premier League is that there are clubs, like City and United, who sign who they want and when they want," he told _beIN Sports_. "Then there are big teams, like us, who sign when we can and who we can. It's the big difference today."

🇰🇪Kenya 🚫Bans Street ✊Protests Amid 🗳Election Row

Kenya's government has banned demonstrations in three major Kenyan cities - the capital Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu. Interior Minister Fred Matiang'i said the ban was aimed at protecting Kenyans and their property. Opposition supporters have been holding regular protests in the three cities, which have resulted in looting and violent clashes with police. They are pushing for electoral changes before a fresh election is held. Opposition leader Raila Odinga pulled out of the 26 October poll earlier this week. The Supreme Court had annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's win in the August election, after it found that the election commission had not followed the constitution and the electoral laws. Mr Matiang'i said the ban was not meant to curtail the constitutional right to demonstrate but that it was agreed on after security authorities found that there was "imminent danger".

EFCC traces N2.1bn to Patience’s dead mother’s account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has traced N2.114bn to the bank account of Magel Resort Limited, which was allegedly owned by Mrs. Patience Jonathan and her late mother, Mama Charity Oba. According to the EFCC, the total amount of money traced to Mrs. Jonathan is now N17bn. Patience, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, had, last week, filed a N2bn fundamental human rights suit against the EFCC, accusing the anti-graft agency of subjecting her to psychological trauma, unnecessary persecution and going as far as freezing her late mother’s accounts. However, an interim report of the EFCC, made available to The PUNCH, accused Mrs. Jonathan of perpetrating fraud through some of her non-governmental organisations. The report adds that at least N17bn, including funds from some government agencies, were paid into the accounts of Mrs. Jonathan’s NGOs.
